Roll-Forming: Calculation and Manufacturing

Educational program of the summer course is dedicated to modern methods of calculating and manufacturing of roll forming in the aviation, automotive and construction industries. It is a two-week intensive program with professors of UlSTU and aviation specialists of PC „Ulyanovsk Research Institute of Aviation Technology and Production Organization“. The head of the program is a doctor, professor Vladimir Markovtsev, head of the department of UlSTU, one of the leading specialists in this field. The program presents the important role played by roll-formed profiles in modern aircraft, cars and building structures. Roll-formed profiles determine the strength and manufacturability of structures. Students will get acquainted with the methods of computer-aided design, calculation and production of roll-formed profiles. Classes are conducted on modern CAD/CAM/CAE software systems, including UN NX and ANSYS.

School course includes short Russian language course. Participants with different levels of Russian are welcomed. Entry Russian course and advanced course are provided.

Upon completion students receive a certificate, indicating the number of academic hours and credit points recommended, as well as study materials.

Entertaining part of the program combines sports activities, workshops, cultural museums, out-of-town guided tour, bicycle ride, picnic, open-air movie theater and others.

Participants of the Summer school are accommodated in a student dormitory on campus within walking distance from educational buildings. Apartments (for three or four) are fully furnished with shared facilities: equipped kitchen and a bathroom. Football stadium and gym are also available for students on campus.

During the School participants will be accompanied by student tutors and volunteers. It is recommended for students to form groups when arriving to Russia so the university specialist could meet them in Moscow and follow to Ulyanovsk (if applicable).
